Gifts Options - Churches and Agencies
 

For Churches and Agencies the UM Foundation can be their "Development Department."  The UM Foundation can assist in developing Permanent Funds ( Endowment Trusts) and Custodial/Deposit Accounts (managed for investment purposes).

Permanent Endowment Funds
        Church, agency or individual(s) can create a Permanent Endowment Fund with the UM Foundation.  The principal will continue to grow as the annual income is available to the church or agency for its ministries as determined in the fund agreement.

        Examples of Permanent Endowment Funds are:
                    Scholarship Funds
                    Building/Facilities Endowment Fund   
                    Outreach/Mission/Evangelism Fund
                    Music/Choir/Organ Fund
                    Christian Education Fund
                    Church's Cemetery Fund

Custodial/Deposit Accounts

        The Church or agency places money with the UM Foundation for investment.  The advantages of a Custodial/Deposit accounts are:   1. deposits and withdrawals at any time in any amount  including income and principal; 2. no maturity dates; and 3. no penalty for withdrawals.

        Examples of Custodial/Deposit Accounts are:   
                    Holding Funds
                    Trustees' Reserve Fund
                    Campership Fund
                    New Church Development Fund
                    Capital Improvement Fund
