Foundation of West Virginia, Inc.
Our Mission is to serve United
Methodist individuals, families, local churches, and Conference-related
ministries by raising, managing, and
distributing funds for the benefit of United Methodist
causes.
The Foundation accomplishes its MISSION
through a ministry of INDIVIDUALS and FAMILIES:
* Provides information and education about planned giving to
match the needs of the donor with the needs of the ministry.
* Works in consultation with individuals and other
professional advisors to maximize available tax benefits - income tax
deductions, estate tax deductions and
preferential capital gains tax treatment.
* Acts as the trustee in any giving plan where that service
is needed. The Foundation is the trustee to over 560 trusts
benefiting local United Methodist Churches
and all of the Conference-related ministries.
* Provides life income arrangements (gift annuities and
charitable remainder trusts).
The Foundation accomplishes its MISSION through a ministry to LOCAL
CHURCHES and the CONFERENCE:
* Assists local churches and Conference-related ministries in
increasing their endowment funds.
* Serves local United Methodist churches and the
institutions, agencies, Districts, and Conference as the administrator
for investment purposes of long-term
custodial deposits.
* Provides training for Conference-related ministries and
local churches for their planned giving program and ministry.
* Maintains records and accounting in compliance with the
highest professional standards.
* Distributed over $1.8 million in 2009 to United Methodist
causes.
