Our Story - Meet The Staff

Jeffrey A. Taylor
President
Jeff succeeded Rev. David R. Peters as President after serving as
Associate Director for five years.
An attorney, Jeff received both his undergraduate (B.S., 1983) and
law degrees (J.D., 1986) from
West Virginia University, Morgantown, WV.
Jeff is an active member and Secretary of the National Association
of United Methodist Foundations;
the national Committee on Planned Giving; and serves as President of
the local affiliated, KYOWVA
Planned Giving Council; and the West Virginia State Bar.
The first layperson to serve as President of the United Methodist
Foundation of West Virginia, Inc.,
Jeff is a very active member of the United Methodist Church.
He is a Certified Lay Speaker and the
Western District Lay Leader.

Kimberly A. Matthews
Associate Director
Kim joined the Foundation staff as Associate Director in 2008.
Prior to that, Kim served for 19 years as
Research Associate with Marshall University School of Medicine and
its affiliates. She is an author of
several journal articles in the field of diabetes research.
Kim received her undergraduate and Master's degrees from the College
of Science at Marshall University.
She is an active member of her church, serving as the lay leader of
her church and as a member of the Nurture
Committee. Kim is also a Certified Lay Speaker.

E. Joyce Townsend
Accounts Administrator
In 1993,
Joyce joined the Foundation staff. During her 12 years
of services, Joyce's
excellent
administrative skills and dedication has contributed to the
Foundation's success.
Prior to her
employment with the Foundation, she served as Office
Manager/Secretary
to the Charleston
District Office of the West Virginia Conference for 9 years.
Joyce
completed a course of study
at Emory University School of Business, Atlanta, GA
sponsored by the
General Council on
Finance and Administration which certified her
as a United Methodist
Church Secretary.
Joyce is an active member of The Professional Association of United
Methodist Church
Secretaries
(PAUMCS). She served as National Vice President of PAUMCS from
1994
to 1997 and
National President of PAUMCS from 1997 to 2000. Joyce is also
a member
of The National
Association of Executive Secretaries and Administrative Assistants. |

Sally A. Sloan
Administrative Assistant
Sally joined the Foundation staff in 2002. Previous to her
employment with the Foundation,
she
was a local church secretary a little less than 1 year, a business
owner for 5 years and
was an
Administrative Assistant for a natural gas company for 19 years.
She is a graduate
of West
Virginia State University.
During the summer of 2005, Sally completed a course of study
at Emory University School
of
Business, Atlanta, GA sponsored by the
General Council on
Finance and Administration
which
certified her as a United Methodist
Church Secretary. She is a member of The
Professional
Association of United Methodist Church Secretaries (PAUMCS) and is
President
of the WV
Southern Chapter of PAUMCS. |
