New Officers and Trustees Elected for 2022


The Board of Trustees for the United Methodist Foundation of West Virginia, Inc., elected new trustees and officers at its latest meeting on November 4, 2021.

The Board elected Cheryl Davis, from Charleston to serve as Chairperson; Michael Perkins, from St. Clairsville, OH, to serve as Vice Chairperson; and Judy Raines, from Bluefield, to serve as Treasurer. The Board also re-elected Foundation staff members Jeff Taylor, of Hurricane to serve as President; Kim Matthews, of Huntington, to serve as Vice President; and Susannah Carpenter, of Charleston, to serve as Chief Financial Officer. Bishop Sandra Steiner Ball continues to serve as the Honorary Chairperson.

The Board of Trustees elected three new trustees:  Rev. Jarrod Caltrider, Rev. Teresa Markins, and Patricia Mick.  Rev. Caltrider is an ordained elder who serves as pastor of Dunbar United Methodist Church. He is a graduate of West Virginia Wesleyan College and Pittsburgh Theological Seminary.

Rev. Teresa Markins serves as pastor of St. John United Methodist Church in Scott Depot. She is a graduate of Marshall University and Duke Divinity School and is an ordained elder.
Patricia Mick is a layperson from the Greenbrier District and is a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Talcott. She graduated from Concord University in Athens. Pat is active in the United Methodist Women and in the Annual Conference, most recently completing two 4-year terms as Chairperson of Global Ministries.

Additionally, The Foundation hired Meg Keller, a recent graduate of Marshall University, Soldier in the West Virginia National Guard and prior Public Affairs Specialist for the WVNG, as Director of Communications.

The Foundation thanks our retiring Trustees, Chris Meighen and Richard Toothman, as well as all of our Trustees and officers. We welcome Jarrod, Teresa, and Pat to the Board of Trustees.
